Brief Astrology Addendum For Indra Rinzler Podcast

Quick solo mentions not included in the podcast Vedic Astrology, Enneagram of Personality & Wheel of Totality with Indra Rinzler:

Audio: Brief Astrology Addendum For Indra Rinzler Podcast

The raw unedited YouTube transcription of this podcast:

wholeness this is a brief

talk on what i had originally prepared

for mentioning with recent guest

vedic astrologer

indra

renzler

however when i was writing this down

let’s just say i got some signs to not

go through with all that so some of it i

did though and these are just some

brief

questions

that i was curious about but i could see

how they would be

painted

in a light

by some perhaps

that could seem

invalidating

to the whole entire system of astrology

and if that was the case

it wouldn’t be very

becoming of a podcast host i feel unless

that was agreed to

before we started and of course i don’t

cling to any of these

views or opinions they’re just

something i was curious about and

interested in exploring in order to

derive the truth around them this also

may illustrate my pretty much ignorance

and near complete lack of knowledge

about all this so in a western astrology

i’ve heard that a lot of times it

doesn’t

immediately align with the actual stars

so for instance maybe this sun might be

in capricorn in the western astrology

system but the actual sun

maybe for a short amount of time is in a

different sign so i was wondering

how that might affect

interpretation of charts and then

how computer charts

used today

both how does this help

and hinder how it was done in ancient

times and how was it done in ancient

times without computers my own

experience

early on

with like pop

newspaper astrology i would notice

that if i read it then it became almost

a script for that day or whatever it was

saying but if i would

not read it

and wait for it to become outdated

and then compare it to memory of what

actually happened it didn’t seem to have

such a big

effect as if i read it

beforehand i’ve also heard western

astrology charts referred to as

enslavement charts so how much of what

is expressed in the chart limits how

much of it frees

liberates how much of it locks

us into systems

instead of our power beyond all this

beyond

astrological systems so then

how much does

or can astrological knowledge mitigate

what’s seen as

not beneficial in a chart verses are

compared to

or just to consider

how much would direct knowing mitigate

any negative effects and just a few

miscellaneous notes that aren’t really

controversial or questions so i remember

reading a suta a buddhist that suggested

that monks living in the wilderness

should be familiar with the zodiac and

there’s a book

called something like the stars and a

new way to see them by

two initials and then rey i want to say

it is some of the ways the

constellations are drawn and then

compared to the actual stars it’s really

confusing because they don’t really

resemble each other much however with

this book and the illustrations in

in it it seems a little bit more clear

on where the names were derived from and

also how to identify them by these new

connecting of the dots of the stars

there’s a saying that

millionaires don’t use astrology

billionaires do and the fact that reagan

was said to have his own personal

astrologer while in the white house and

maybe beyond that i’m not sure this

concludes a brief miscellany on

astrology

Vedic Astrology, Enneagram of Personality & Wheel of Totality with Indra Rinzler

[Nov 11, 2025 Update: Indra new book Indra’s Net: A SEEKER’S Guide to the Human Experience comes out Nov 20 and was “a lifetime in the making [with] innocent first writings a full 8 years ago”]

Some of the topics Indra Rinzler and I address:

  • Who is Indra Rinzler, what he does and how he helps people
  • What is “self”/”Self”
  • (my unique laugh)
  • “So I’ve heard” and “Thus I’ve heard”
  • “positionality”
  • clinging to beliefs, views and ideas
  • insights, letting go, emptiness
  • changes
  • live as a mirror and Indra’s net
  • triggers
  • expansion
  • formlessness

Vedic Astrology

  • “same same and different”
  • satiereal vs. tropical time
  • 24 degrees backwards
  • how Western and Vedic Astrology were once very similar and currently not as much
  • (my) experiences with astrology and (loose) parallels to learning math and navigating megalopolises
  • casting charts for time periods and places
  • origins and history
  • Mesopotamian tablets
  • omenology by the priest class and advisors regressing over time
  • dumbing down of society
  • Copernicus, Galileo, Potalamy
  • Greek 59 epicenters to explain how the sun circles the earth
  • popularity of some theories over others
  • Astrology to identify patterning in order to let them go
  • folks going to Astrologers when at their wits end
  • needing to know vs. not needing to know (the origins, or the why) for releasing, clearing, letting go [I didn’t mention that if the same thing repeatedly occurs after clearing again and again then perhaps look into the origins and why it keeps happening]

Enneagram

  • https://secretenergy.com/ennealogy
  • history with Gurdjieff
  • archetype/personality system added later by student
  • detects core story to be able to come back to the moment
  • THE sticky 9 Judeo-Christian archetypal/behavioral stories of last 2000-5000 years both visible and invisible
  • The story we tell about ourselves and its importance, non-importance, solidity, malleability, becoming its script-like nature, clinging and holding it loosely
  • Tarot as an archetypical system
  • distilling a session down to eight words with/as an affirmation
  • “I guess I gotta do it”
  • entering open vibrations for information
  • origin of Enneagram shrouded in mystery
  • cycles of rediscovery
  • “You and your cat both think ‘let’s go down and have a beer at the bar'”
  • anger, emotion and fear as core instincts
  • extroversion, introversion and mesoversion/ambiversion/neutral/”quality control” as responses or directions to/for incoming energy
  • Three instincts times three directions = nine Enneagramic vibrational signatures:
    • 1) perfectionist — anger inward making up the right way to cover for feelings of uselessness and inadequacy
    • 2) helper — outward selfless appearance to create codependency as love strategy
    • 3) producer — achievers (for social status)
    • 4) inward emotion/individualist — sensitive, artists, expressive
    • 5) observer — fear inward using information to protect feelings of inadequacy
    • 6) loyalist — fear neutral with anxiety and doubt learning courage and duty using faith, not mind to get out of story
    • 7) enthusiast — outward fear, lighthearted, partiers, storytellers, actually running away from feelings
    • 8) boss/challenger — strongest personality with all offense to cover up teddy bear in their heart
    • 9) peacemaker — neutral anger – disconnect from self to create harmony
  • one’s main enneagram number uses wings, or other numbers for coping strategies
  • taking on others by proximity and merging
  • coming to no-story by going through your story not the story of no-story
  • complexity of “Dissociative Identity Disorder” and empaths
  • multiplicity of fears
  • discerning fear from past traumas, past lives and this current life as priority
  • nothing is personal concordant with experiential nature of our lives
  • deja vu, unexplained knowing, and depth of present time
  • scientific studies of past lives

  • Astrological houses containing awareness on the highest level
  • example: 10th house in mundane astrology is career while the higher version is love
  • houses without planets are blindspots
  • overlaying natal chart onto Wheel of Totality to see qualities and abilities both present and not

    • 1) who you are
    • 2) duality, judgementalism
    • 3) mind

Perceiving And Responding To “Intelligent” Machine Unknowns

As also seen from the embed above, my actions and responses to recent Instagram opportunities:

12/24/1919 is obviously not my real birthday. With zero notification or options given to export my account and exit, blackmail and extortion by a human-less IG leaves zero recourse for this my choice for momentary misrepresentation. I’m open to consider meeting with any organic lifeforms (from Instagram or otherwise) to determine trust whether to divulge DOB. My phone number and many modes of contact are on my website. Furthermore, direct messaging from my other @dippold IG account says “Sorry, this page isn’t available” while it recently worked before this. Nor where multiple images for one post allowed. I choose not to speculate as to causes and conditions (here, now).

This raises many questions I’d rather not inform the Artificial Intelligences perhaps involved in this scenario prior to this, now, and/or in the future but I feel this is the virtual time and place to do so. When machines, algorithms, AI, (quantum) computer systems, etc. — and (possibly) their creators, those behind them, and/or responsible for them — test us, cut us off, glitch out deliberately (or not), provoke, prod, study, run operations, execute various commands pushing into the organic world, behave in ways (currently) unbeknownst to us, are unreachable, unaffected, agendas unknown, irrelevant, with little to no reference points, and/or nearly being beyond any kind of comprehension like a sick alien from a yet to be conceived sci-fi movie . . . how do we (hypothetical or not) view something like this? What’s the relationship to this and to ourselves? How ought relevant responses be skillful, helpful, wise and wholesome leading to the long term well-being, happiness and the true heart’s release for all beings everywhere?

[As of 1:00am 12/25/2021 my @dippold direct messages work again so I’ve deleted the two previous posts there as the point of their content is now included on @integratingpresence]

Distortions and Dreams

The event description for this edited audio version from a recent Insight Timer live talk Distortions and Dreams:

A 15 minute side glance at making New Years resolutions by an exploratory barraging of the barriers of distortions and the ups and downs of (some) dreams.

While the local church bells at 6pm are still audible, I’ve edited out most of me reading back the audience comments and my responses to them. My original notes are more or less as follows:

  • Intent and Disclaimer: could all be enlightening, rubbish or anywhere in between. A sharing to discerned for oneself. Take what’s helpful and discard the rest
  • Inspired by a comment asking what’s so bad about dreams. I responded by addressing distortions

Dream definition:

	1. a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep

	2. a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal

  • What is/are a dream/dreams?
    • Daydreams?
    • Lofty goals?
    • Nightly/sleeping phenomena?
    • Relationship to sexual activity?
    • American Dream (will address in a moment)
  • Don’t mean MLK “I have a dream” which is more of a vision — we need more visions and resolves and betterment
  • English language is tricky
  • Pop culture:
    • nightmares
    • dream a little dream for me
    • in your dreams
    • dream on, dream away
    • living the dream
    • make your dreams come true
  • Dream interpretation — psychological side
  • Awakening on the spiritual path like waking up out of a dream.
  • “The only thing we don’t wake up out of is love”
  • Dream within a dream preferable to “everything is an illusion” (run into that tree at full speed and tell me it is an illusion)
  • Two Truths
  • “American Dream” as justification for distortions? (Not an invalidation)

Distortion definiton:

	1. pull or twist out of shape

	2. the action of giving a misleading account or impression

	3. change in the form of an electrical signal or sound wave during processing

  • Perhaps distortion is another facet of the Pali word Moha — often translated as delusion (not in psychiatric sense) or ignorance. Moha can be not recognizing the other two poisons of greed and ill-will.
  • Ever been convinced something is one way then find out it’s not?
  • Distortion synonyms and the like : funhouse of mirrors, counterfeit, inversions, reversals, twisting, misrepresentation, partial truths, deceptions, unreal(ity)
  • Negentropy, retro-causation but then into metaphysics, physics of reality constructions and systems, but how much of this leads toward stress and how much away from it?
  • Teaching of the arrow
  • How to address: recognition, observation, investigation, questioning, study, discernment, knowing, truth, reality, wisdom
  • How are dreams made? How do they come about? What is the level, degree, amount of attachment to each?
  • Being enthusiastic about whatever comes our way in life as it can be way stranger (in a good way) and way more wonderful and beautiful than anything we could dream up
  • Why pick apart dreams and distortions? Wouldn’t it be easier, safer and more comfortable not addressing truth?
  • ‘Truth is a reliable stream of light, faithfully guiding your journey of unraveling, only able to dismantle the parts that cannot proceed any further. When awakening strips us down to our core, even loving ourselves can sometimes feel too much. This is when we shift into the silent “I love you’s” where each breath you take infuses all sentient beings with a love always transmitted, even without being intended or spoken.’

This is an edit of two 15 minute Insight Timer Live events at 11am and 11pm Central on November 10th, 2021 about instruction suggestions for meditating with the four main postures of sitting, standing, lying down and walking. This was inspired by a request for walking meditation instructions during my recent months’ silent Insight Timer Live events with these four postures at Forrest Park in St Louis Missouri. Some of my (edited) original notes and links:

Towards Cognitive Dissonance Resolution

On November 28, 2021, I held a 15 minute event concurrently on Insight Timer Live and the Wisdom app called “Towards Cognitive Dissonance Resolution” with the description:

One way to address cognitive dissonance is to simultaneously hold unpleasant, confusing, chaotic oppositions equanimously in awareness with kind intent to transmute into calmness and clarity for the liberation of all

Often using the pronoun “we” throughout to highlight community commonalities, I mentioned the similarities of “cognitive dissonance” and “paradox.” I then wondered if the definition of either of these words accurately portray the stuff of this semi-meditative practice involving simultaneously holding in awareness similar yet significantly different notions.

We start with the more emotionally neutral theme of transportation: planes, trains and automobiles, then get into the more spiritual spectrum:

  • flow — stillness
  • idealism — realism
  • humility — empowerment

I pause to drop in instructions to notice the amount of identification with each of the concept pairs as well as to notice the degree of clinging (to one over another); continuing:

  • purity, chastity — passion, procreation
  • boundaries — boundlessness

I pause again to speak on how I came about this practice and on coming across a recent teaching: what may seem like duality and polarity are actually “one,” but “not one and the same” — they’re at different locations on the same spectrum. Continuing again:

  • safety — being free
  • judging — discernment
  • conventional reality — non-dualism/ultimate reality
  • minimalism — abundance
  • vulnerability — resilience
  • helping others — helping oneself, self-care
  • agency, will, action, doing — surrender, letting go, being
  • [not mentioned in podcast although important: sovereignty — interconnectivity]

Then some singular concepts to help gel this practice before jumping into the challenge:

  • unity
  • honor
  • dignity
  • worthiness
  • wholeness

And the finale:

  • vaccination — no vaccination
  • political left — political right
