About Hope Fitzgerald

I’m a Spiritual Teacher, Intuitive Dowser, Coach and Author. I am also a healer, an End-of-Life Midwife, and a Certified Neurofeedback Practitioner.

Between us, I’ve always pushed back when people have asked me to use my name in marketing because it’s really not about me. I was blessed with this name and have done my best to live up to it, and now I encourage everyone to spread hope, infinitely.

The topics I speak about are:

Infinity Wave:

The Infinity Wave, pioneered by Hope Fitzgerald, is a transformative energy modality that empowers individuals to break free from limitations, expand their consciousness, and embody higher states of being. By using this practice, individuals embark on a journey of self-discovery by tapping into the infinite potential within themselves to alter reality, fostering profound healing and personal growth.

Dowsing:

Dowsing is an ancient practice that serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness between the physical and spiritual realms as it harnesses the intuition to detect unseen energies and information. Whether using L-rods or pendulums, dowsers can tap into a higher level of consciousness to access knowledge beyond the physical realm. This practice is not bound by traditional scientific explanations but has been utilized for centuries for various purposes, including locating water sources, minerals, and lost objects as well as determining most advantageous choices for an individual. Hope has been a dowser for over 30 years, using it to guide clients through difficult decisions, road blocks and deeper understanding of their lives.

Spiritual Evolution:

Spiritual evolution is the ongoing process of personal and collective growth towards higher states of consciousness and awareness. It encompasses the journey of self-discovery, inner transformation, and the expansion of one’s understanding of the universe and their place within it. As individuals awaken to their true nature and purpose, they undergo profound shifts in perspective, values, and behaviors. This evolution is not confined to any particular belief system but is universal in nature, transcending cultural and religious boundaries. Through introspection, mindfulness practices, and connection with the divine, individuals contribute to the collective evolution of humanity towards a more harmonious and enlightened existence.

Change Dynamics & You, Awake:

“Change Dynamics” refers to the process of navigating change of any kind. Many people’s response to change is to freeze up, becoming rigid and out of touch with their full human capacities. You, Awake: Mastering the Art of Change is a workshop designed to provide a step-by-step process of returning to fluidity and joy. Why is this important? When individuals awaken to their inherent power and potential, they become catalysts for transformation on both personal and societal levels. By embodying principles of compassion, authenticity, forgiveness and gratitude, they inspire others to awaken to their own inner light and take proactive steps towards positive change. This dynamic process involves a continuous cycle of self-reflection, growth, and action, fueled by the understanding that every individual has the capacity to contribute to the collective awakening of humanity.

Water:

Beyond its physical properties, which are still not entirely understood by science, water is a symbol of purification, healing, and renewal across cultures and traditions. While water is the source of all life on Earth, sustaining ecosystems and facilitating biochemical processes essential for survival, it is also revered for its ability to cleanse and purify the body, mind, and soul. In more recent years, experiments by Dr Emoto and others have shown water to have memory and consciousness – the mysteries are still unfolding. As a practice, wise individuals connect regularly with the elemental power and wisdom of this essential resource, honoring its sacred role in sustaining life and promoting well-being.

Death:

Though I prefer the term Midwife to the Afterlife over Death Doula, they mean the same thing. For much of my life, I’ve been drawn to the topic of death but not in a morbid way. Even before I stumbled into becoming a medium, I was fascinated with communication from the other side, and read countless books on the subject. Now, I’m honored to work in the field as a coach for both the transitioning person as well as their families and loved ones. I also help those left behind to recover from grief.

No matter where someone is in their development, either a beginner or a recognized Starseed, everyone is on a trajectory of their own evolution – it’s the exciting work we came here to do! Let’s work together to make it as joyful as possible.

Awareness Itself | July 25/26, 2024 “Meditation Q & A With Wendy Nash” #23

In this twenty-third installment of the ongoing live series with Wendy Nash inquiring into meditation practice on and off the cushion we explore awareness itself, particularly in light of just having audited a retreat on it.

Retreat Notes

Disclaimers:

  • not too many specifics about the retreat
  • may be able to listen to some of the retreat dhamma talks on dharmaseed.org later so can maybe audit a bit of my auditing
  • this is my best current understanding and it may be distorted or inaccurate and it contains my biases
  • retreat was a glad break to usual meditation practice
  • did the audit version as a “silent retreat and/or as a compliment to daily life”

Insights:

  • I’m still very enchanted by cognition
  • There’s perhaps privilege in mediation (retreat) practice so allowing privilege because it is already there. Specifically, this means accepting the rare case of such time for deep practice has been allotted (and for me also taking too many liberties with open awareness practice like priming it for thinking about stuff). This is acknowledged yet not indulging in it to the extremes of “yes, I’m so great, this is so great” nor “oh I feel bad that so many others don’t have this chance and so many other things may be more important than this”
  • I guess at least there’s more diversity in today’s self-imposed and/or societally pressured segregations? [This is kind of a response to different groups that would meet apart from everyone else at the retreat]
  • Instead of being slowly caked into the sloppy mud hole of (my) challenges, I, or awareness, can be the one who sees and acknowledges that challenging mud hole. This isn’t a hypothetical philosophy but an energetic reality accessed by feeling into what it feels like to feel the one who sees and knows the mud hole instead only lost in the agony of just being in the mud
  • Awareness without object is kind of impotent, like having lots of money without being able to spend it, yet also very freeing and empowering not wasting time and energy tracking or staying with objects yet knowing when picking up a (meditation) object it may now very well be better seen, known and handled
  • Seeing depths of the inner narrative and how it informs views, compliance, support and/or rejection (of other views)
  • Vast, high-level worldly awareness seeming reserved for intel communities who claim to be better equipped to handle what awareness might know and who might perhaps work to reserve or restrict awareness in addition to deciding what is allowed to be known by the public. What impact, direct or in direct, does this have on societies? Contrast this with “don’t know mind”
  • Internal politics in retreats often not apparent

Types of practices (that occurred to me):

  • (Making inroads to) relentlessly accessing constant organic awareness
  • Harness the awareness associated with any/all phenomena for the longterm benefit and self and others
  • Access (with intent) any and all possible and remembered/experienced phenomena, states and stations of consciousness in meditation past, present and future and hold this in awareness, interconnected, gathered into a manageable object and (somehow) integrate this into one’s current meditation (object)
  • Bearing awareness in mind
  • Contemplating awareness
  • Investigating awareness: placing and holding attention on the intention to investigate awareness (without a need to have answers or cognize)
  • Source of awareness?
  • Contacting consciousness
  • Light of awareness
  • Continuous, rhythmic, soothing walking meditation with or without keeping an intent in mind

Questions:

  • What is right effort for (whatever type of) awareness practice (is undertaken)?
  • We humans receive so much “teaching” and conditioning, especially in the West, to trust sleep and oblivion. How do we learn to trust awaking/awakened awareness though?
  • How is awareness (being) perceived?
  • Any practices and/or instructions for investigating consciousness, specifically viññāṇa, the 6 sense consciousnesses, manas, and/or citta?
  • What are the differences between viññāṇa, perception of boundless consciousness, the light of wisdom, complete absorption in these, or not, and that which knows any and all of these?
  • Boundless space is formless and doesn’t contain objects so how is it different from boundless nothingness? Also, some say neither perception nor non-perception is a subtle, refined state of consciousness, but if framed this way, how is that not boundless consciousness?
  • Just consciousness (Orthodox Theravada Burmese) or is there something more fundamental underneath awareness (Thai Forrest tradition). Not mentioned: Pa-auk Sayadaw multiple vipassana minds
    • Are there more choices than just these two?
    • Can this really be known while (any of the) six senses are online? And when they aren’t online, how does that work, and is that (then) relevant? Ought this type of question be put to today’s mediation masters?
    • What is the difference (then) between the Nibbana element and this type of awareness behind or more fundamental than consciousness?
    • Could maybe just as the conditions were ripe/fitting for the Buddha to arise in the world and there’s only four aggregates for formless beings, could both of these be the case for different (types of) beings in different locations due to different causes and conditions?

*There’s naturally an ongoing open call for meditation (related) questions for the (roughly) monthly “Meditation Q & A” either by the various social media means listed; integratingpresence[at]protonmail.com or just showing to type/ask live.*

Background

Regular, current and past visitors to Integrating Presence may recall the monthly series “Ask Us Anything” I did with Denny K Miu from August 2020 until January 2022 — partially including and continuing on with Lydia Grace as co-host for awhile until March 2022.

For a few months thereafter I did various Insight Timer live events exploring potential new directions and/or a continuation of the Ask Us Anything format while weaving in other related teachings to these events.

Then, after chats with meditation coach Wendy Nash, it became clear to start a new collaboration similar to “Ask Us Anything” simply and clearly called “Meditation Q & A” especially due to the original intent of the Ask Us Anything’s being “discussions about meditation and related topics.”

About Nate Zeleznick: The Path So Far…

Nate Zeleznick was born in a small town in Utah in the mid-1970s. He was a very sensitive and introverted child who struggled to connect with his peers. On top of that, his mother was often physically and emotionally abusive towards him and his younger brothers. From a young age, Nate was subjected to severe bullying at school, which lasted for over a decade. The bullying was so severe that it shattered his sense of self-esteem and left him with some deep emotional scars.

In an attempt to avoid being hurt by the bullies, Nate tried to become a perfect, hyperintelligent person, reading and learning as much as possible. He was obsessed with Star Wars and Ninja movies and wanted more than anything to be a “Ninjedi” from the age of seven. Living in such a small town, there were no martial arts resources, so he practiced what he saw in the movies and loved training with (and often “on”) his brothers. When he was nine, he did a martial arts demonstration in his school talent show, but the other kids ridiculed and bullied him so severely that he gave up on ever becoming a martial artist. This and other experiences led to dark, suicidal thoughts.

Around the age of 12, something amazing began happening. Nate began having spontaneous out-of-body experiences. When he would go to bed at night, oftentimes he would wake up to find his body completely paralyzed but with his mind wide awake. Then, he would get the sensation of floating and actually rise up out of his body, up out of the ceiling, and beyond to explore in ways that just aren’t possible when attached to the physical body. These experiences sparked an obsession with meditation, psychic phenomena, the occult, and superhuman abilities.

Nate was painfully socially awkward with girls and not confident around the other boys, and with abuse happening at home and at school, going Out-of-Body was the only place Nate ever really felt safe. He suffered from severe bouts of loneliness and depression throughout most of elementary, junior high, and high school, beyond what most teens do, and wrestled with the desire to stay on the planet or not, knowing full well what lay on the “other side”

Nate found refuge from self-doubt by diving into bodybuilding and basically living at the gym throughout high school and college. Despite his social awkwardness, Nate was extraordinarily talented in music. He began playing the clarinet in 7th grade and by 9th grade was matriculated at Weber State University. He attended symphonic band, ensemble practices, and private lessons multiple times per week throughout all of high school. His exceptional talent in music earned him a full scholarship to Weber State University as a classical clarinetist.

After college, Nate jumped from job to job trying to find a path with heart that would allow him to express himself to the highest degree, earn a decent living, and become a part of a community. He worked in restaurants, was a fashion model and modeling agency director, mortgage loan originator, and credit card service representative. But none of these jobs provided him with the sense of purpose he was looking for.

In December 1998, Nate discovered Merpati Putih from watching a VHS tape showing blindfolded and blind people in Indonesia who were able to “see” without eyesight using a form of extrasensory perception. The next day, Nate had a life-changing synchronicity where a blind woman almost died crossing the street in front of his car because her guide dog led her face-first into a traffic pole. Nate had a true epiphany that he could not ignore. He realized that his life path was to help blind people learn the Merpati Putih art.

Two weeks later, Nate contacted Merpati Putih and sponsored the first-ever demonstration of Merpati Putih in the United States. After the Merpati Putih demonstrations in Utah and Washington D.C., he was allowed to become the first non-Indonesian ever allowed to learn the Merpati Putih meditation, energy work, breathwork, energy healing, martial art, and extrasensory perception system with the blessing of the 11th-generation royal heirs of Merpati Putih from Java, Indonesia.

Several weeks after he began training under Dr. Hendarto, MD in Salt Lake City, Nate’s brother Mike joined him in the training and they made Merpati Putih their way of life. They underwent a brutal and accelerated training regimen, having had years of previous martial arts training experience. They then brought the 11th generation royal heirs to Utah in August of 2000 and the heirs personally tested the Zeleznick brothers, initiated them, awarded their new ranks, and inaugurated the first-ever foreign branch of Merpati Putih called MP USA, Inc.

They were incredibly passionate about sharing the knowledge they had gained through their experiences with Merpati Putih, and they spent many years refining the teaching techniques to make them more understandable and accessible to the Western mind. Together they owned and operated one of the largest and most successful martial arts, meditation, and wellness academies in Utah’s history. They taught adults the authentic traditional Merpati Putih martial arts and energy system, as well as kids martial arts and character development, seniors breathwork, meditation, and fitness, and women’s self-protection seminars.

They traveled to Indonesia several times for long training and testing sabbaticals in 2005, 2007, and 2013. As they tested they advanced in rank and knowledge, further cementing their position as the leaders for the Merpati Putih knowledge for North and South America. In 2007 during the 3-day nonstop National Merpati Putih Test, Nate was blindfolded and put next to a huge diesel generator for the movement test which lasted well into the early morning. Having black exhaust spewing at him for hours on end proved to be too much and at the end of the movement test portion Nate collapsed and had a Near Death Experience. Having been familiar with the Out-of-Body state before, he observed as his body was dragged off the testing field and was leaned against a tree as the medical crew cam running. His main Indonesian instructor and his brother were attempting to revive him when he was given a choice: should I stay or should I go now?

Having not accomplished his mission of helping at least one million people learn the White Dove techniques, and knowing he still had much to do and experience in life, he made the choice to reenter his body.

When he came back to waking consciousness, he was given some water and told to go put on his sparring gear for the fighting portion. No rest for the wicked…

After returning home, they continued teaching numerous program, working a minimum of 50 hours per week, visiting Indonesia again in 2013 with a team of their senior students to attend the 50th Anniversary of Merpati Putih’s release to the Indonesian public. They were the first group to perform in front of audience of over 4,000 Merpati Putih members, including the living Royal Heirs, the entire Council of Masters, most of the Senior trainers, Special Forces members, and Merpati Putih students and fans from all over Indonesia. Together they brought the house down, an the next day they all flew to Central Java where Nate’s brother Mike and two of their Senior student tested for a new rank.

Once again, after returning home they continued developing their business, including a Vibravision pilot project in 2014 where some of their senior-most students and some of their youth members were invited to learn the extrasensory perception skills that MP USA was originally formed to promote in the U.S. After several years of dedicated training, several of the members developed Vibravision to such an extent that Nate and Mike were able to arrange demonstrations and training experiences for Optometrists, MD’s, Quantum Physicists, Military personnel, Neuroscientists, and other professionals who were all blown away by what Merpati Putih is able to unlock in people and train them to be able to do that defies science and logic, and yet is real and in some, reproducible. The Merpati Putih (White Dove) breathwork and meditations are light years ahead of other methods, and is a perfect force multiplier for any other meditation, energy, athletic, consciousness, or inner peace modality.

Nate and his team continued to train people in many different programs until March 2020 when the world shut down because of you know why. In fact, a full 50% of ALL martial arts school in the U.S. were forced to close permanently within 6 months of the pandemic’s arrival, and trying as hard they could, they were not able to continue operating their MP USA martial arts academy.

Although the pandemic forced them to close the doors on one of their businesses, they continued to teach people the Vibravision skill in a seminar format for primarily affluent business leaders. However, in November 2022, they decided to split forces in business in order to serve a greater amount of people using their own strengths and teaching abilities. Nate realized that many people were interested in learning about the system, but didn’t necessarily want to commit to years of training in a martial arts academy, or pay fees that were outside the grasp of all but the most devoted or affluent. So, he decided to create a more accessible version of the practice that anyone could do from the comfort of their own home, and if they wanted to come learn from him in person, that option exists as well.

In 2022, he launched the Inner Wisdom System (dba White Dove Method), which is both a comprehensive online and in-person program that teaches people how to use the techniques of Merpati Putih to tap into their inner power and higher consciousness. The programs include instructional videos, guided meditations, and interactive exercises that help people to develop their own unique practice and up-level anything they are already doing, or give them an incomparable base to start with is they are a first-timer.

Then, in 2023 he rebranded White Dove Method to be the Integrated Ascension Method (I AM) and added vibroacoustic therapy, brainwave entrainment, neurofeedback brain training, tachyon energy devices, Emotion Code and Body Code therapies, nutritional fitness, and other modalities to create a truly one-of-a-kind wellness and ascension system. One of the key components of the Integrated Ascension Method (I AM) is Nate’s own unique approach to teaching the Merpati Putih system to provide fast results. The Integrated Ascension Method (I AM) is designed to help people unlock their full potential by using a combination of both ancient wisdom and modern technology in ways no one else has done.

Nate is incredibly excited about the potential of the Integrated Ascension and the White Dove Method to help people transform their lives. He has already received many testimonials from people who have experienced profound changes after practicing the techniques he teaches, including improved health, increased creativity, greater clarity of mind, limitless energy, catapulting consciousness to new levels, and skyrocketing libido, just to name a few.

Looking back on his journey, Nate is grateful for all of the challenges he’s faced, because they helped him to develop the resilience and perseverance he needed to pursue his dreams. He feels honored to have been chosen to carry on the legacy of Merpati Putih in the West, and is committed to sharing its teachings with as many people as possible.

Nate’s ultimate goal is to help create a world where people are empowered to live their best lives, free from the limitations of fear, doubt, and insecurity. By tapping into our inner wisdom and higher consciousness, we can all become the best version of ourselves and create a brighter future for ourselves and for future generations.

Perhaps somewhat related: The Subtle Art of a Cat

The story of “The Cat’s Eerie Skill” (Neko no Myōjutsu) is found in a
traditional book of swordsmanship secrets called Inaka Soshi 田舎荘子,
written by Issai Chozan in the 18th century. Chozan was a samurai
in Sekiyado Domain and was well acquainted with Shintoism, Confucianism and Buddhism, with particular knowledge of Taoism and Zen
Buddhism. This story was valued by Tesshu Yamaoka and hardly shared
with anyone even within the same school.

Spaceful, Spirited Speaking With Alan Carroll

On April 19, 2024 master space oil wizard and orator Alan Carroll and I could have very well approached nearly all the things about talking. Who knows? Likely not though. However, it was beyond fascinating to dive pretty deep into the particulars of deftly wielding the spoken English language. While Alan doesn’t directly address a few questions and points I put to him some of the topics we get into include: creating proper speaking space(s) with what Alan terms “space oil” and the power thereof; framing speaking not so much as language as choosing and controlling the vibration(s) of the air; dissolving conditioning; removing ballasts; knowing vs not knowing; words per minute; neglect, care and how to wisely exercise the “instrument”; slowing down; pausing; stillness; savoring; fluidity; beauty; patience; listening; art; the five elements; and of course Space Oil

Towards the end of our chat Alan said, “I’ve earned my living for the last 30 years teaching people how to not speak, and it works.” I didn’t comment about this on the show. He explained it to me afterwards and the rational behind it could perhaps fill another half show.

Also, I guested on Alan’s “Mindful You” podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO5UW74_TPk or https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/mindful-you/exploring-inner-wA_vcjh9QEN

Biography

Alan Carroll is an Educational Psychologist who specializes in Transpersonal Psychology. He founded Alan Carroll & Associates 30 years ago and before that, he was a Senior Sales Training Consultant for 10 years at Digital Equipment Corporation. He has dedicated his life in search of mindfulness tools that can be used by everyone (young and old) to transform their ability to speak at a professional level, as well as, to reduce the psychological suffering caused by the misidentification with our ego and reconnect to the vast transcendent dimension of consciousness that lies just on the other side of the thoughts we think and in between the words we speak.

Relational Practice | June 27/28, 2024 “Meditation Q & A With Wendy Nash” #22

In this twenty-second installment of the ongoing live series with Wendy Nash inquiring into meditation practice on and off the cushion we explore relational practice in its many modes and expressions like how we relate in various societal, cultural, national, institutional, academic and interrelational contexts; and in more formal contemplative containers like insight dialog, and meditation circling.

For years, I wondered what i was meant to do with my life. How was I supposed to help the world (a desire that was always present in my life). The majority of my earlier years I worked counseling emotionally challenged adolescents. During these times I saw the abject pain that all of the residents experienced. My meditation practice kept me from adopting that pain; allowed me to simply be an observer. Even though I had my meditation practice, I didn’t feel called to use it to help. Instead I used the compassion and heart that I learned from my practice to be of the most benefits to the residents. In every position I held after that, my empathy allowed me to see the pain that many people were experiencing, regardless of where I went, or what job I held. And then, about ten years ago, I was on the highway in heavy traffic on my way to a new job. The traffic was heavy and even rocked my typically calm demeanor. It was then and there that I decided to start the Zen Commuter podcast, to help everyday people experience calm. The show focused on the positive aspects of living. And then, about five years in, during a meditation, coincidentally enough, I realized the benefit that meditation has had in my life. At that point I decided to focus solely on meditation for Zen Commuter. And it wasn’t long after that I decided to leave the corporate world to focus on teaching meditation; to helping the many people I knew were suffering with minds that kept them worrying and in fear. I have taught meditation to hundreds of students, even incarcerated men who are serving extended time. I now teach mindfulness and meditation to those suffering from anxiety and depression. I help listeners finally free themselves from the crippling thoughts that keep them troubled and feeling alone.
